1963 Impala Rear Differential Info:

• 1963 Chevy Impalas came with a 8.2" 10 bolt "drop out style" rear axle / differential.
• Ring gear bolts are 3/8 x 24 and there are 10 of them.
• The pinion nut should be 1 1/8"
• The axles are 17 spline and bolt to the axle housing on the ends near the brakes.
• In 1963, some of these differentials were Limited Slip (Posi), but most passenger cars were open differentials.
