4G63 wiring for an engine swap (2G Style)

4G63 MPI Relay (Connector B-87)

  • The MPI relay distributes power to the 4G63 engine. If you wire it wrong, you will have problems like your fuel pump not turning on, ECU not powering up properly, etc.
  • Unplug the MPI connector from the MPI relay and look straight into the pins at the end of the wiring connector. Wires away from you. Make sure the clip that locks the connector into the MPI relay is facing up.

The order of pins are:

12
34
  • Pin 1 - Red Wire - This wire spiderwebs through the harness and goes to Pin 12 & Pin 25 at the ECU. It is also connected to:
Idle Speed Control Motor (Pin 2 & Pin 5)
Oxygen Sensor (Pin 1)
Mass Airflow Sensor (Pin 4)
Camshaft Position Sensor (Pin 3)
Crankshaft Position Sensor (Pin 3)
Injector Resistor (Pin 3)
  • Pin 2 - Light Green Wire - This is a direct wire to Pin 38 at the ECU.
  • Pin 3 - Red with Black Stripe Wire - This can be combined with MPI Pin 4 and connected to a 20A Fuse. The other side of this fuse should connect to the battery, giving it power all the time.
  • Pin 4 - Red with Black Stripe Wire - This can be combined with MPI Pin 3 and connected to a 20A Fuse. The other side of this fuse should connect to the battery, giving it power all the time.

4G63 Fuel Injector Wiring

  • #1 cylinder (Connector A-50) (front cylinder, closest to water pump)
Pin 1 - Red wire
Pin 2 - Green wire
  • #2 cylinder (Connector A-56)
Pin 1 - Red wire
Pin 2 - Yellowfins with Black Stripe wire
  • #3 cylinder (Connector A-61)
Pin 1 - Red wire
Pin 2 - Green with Yellow Stripe wire
  • #4 cylinder (Connector A-93) (rear cylinder, closest to transmission)
Pin 1 - Red
Pin 2 - Green with Red Stripe wire

4G63 Power Transistor wires: (A-92])

Note: This connector is the same 6 pin connector as the ISC connector. Don't mix them up accidentally when installing your wiring harness into your vehicle.
  • Pin 1 - Blue w/ Black stripe wire -> Goes to Pin 1 of Ignition Coil (Connector A-62)
  • Pin 2 - Brown w/ Red stripe wire -> Goes to Pin 23 of ECU (Connector B-53)
  • Pin 3 - Black wire -> Ground
  • Pin 4 - White stripe wire -> Goes to Pin 31 at ECU (Connector B-54)
  • Pin 5 -
  • Pin 6 - Black w/ white stripe wire -> Goes to Pin 3 of Ignition Coil (Connector A-62)
  • Pin 7 - Black w/ Blue stripe wire -> Goes to Pin 10 of the ECU (Connector B-53)
  • Pin 8 - Black w/ white stripe wire -> Goes to Engine Speed Connector (Connector A-59)
